SUMMARY:Camerata Nordica Octet
LOCATION:Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts
DESCRIPTION:Time: 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM\n\nFounded in 1974\, Camerata Nordica
has built an international reputation for its distinctive\, high-energy p
erformance style—captivating audiences by performing standing up\, often
entirely from memory. This physical freedom and shared musical purpose cr
eate an electrifying connection both within the ensemble and with listene
rs. The group’s artistry has been widely recognized\, with three recordin
gs earning Grammy Award nominations.\nDrawn from the orchestra’s principa
l players\, the Camerata Nordica Octet presents a refined chamber experie
nce in which the musicians reveal an extraordinary depth of musical conne
ction\, precision\, and expressive commitment\, bringing every piece vivi
dly to life.\n“A memorable evening.” The Washington Post\n“Outstanding mu
sicians ... one of the best music ensembles today. Camerata Nordica gives
the impression that it is better to listen to the classics performed by
a smaller number of players than by large orchestras.” Guia (Brazil)\n“Th
e Camerata was absolutely phenomenal – what a pleasure to hear them. They
are intense\, extraordinary musicians.” WGBH Radio (Boston)\n“They are o
utstandingly good\, practised\, and magnetic in performance. Why magnetic
? Because the empathy between the players is unique.” Musical Opinion (UK
)\nSeason Tickets available beginning July 7 (click the "Season Ticket" t
