One of the most in-demand ensembles in our series, the extraordinary Actors from the London Stage, founded by Sir Patrick Stewart, return to campus with a riveting new production of King Lear. In this timeless masterpiece, William Shakespeare explores the fragile boundary between authority and chaos, revealing the beauty of selfless love, the anguish of betrayal, and the terrifying consequences when ambition and greed overtake human compassion. By turns intimate and epic, this powerful story of madness, politics, and family loyalty remains strikingly relevant for today’s world.
“It is astonishing to watch five actors playing 30 different roles give a complete and riveting performance.” (The Royal Gazette)
“This immensely gifted troupe has the power to bring vivid life to anything to which it turns its attention.” (Stephen Greenblatt, editor – Norton Shakespeare)
